Jose Mourinho attended the DFB Pokal final in Berlin on May 27, 2026, but not to watch Michael Olise play for Bayern Munich, according to CF Bayern Insider. The Portuguese coach, who will manage Real Madrid next season, was invited by VfB Stuttgart to meet with the club's leadership.
Fabian Wohlgemuth, Stuttgart's sports board member, has a close connection with Gestifute, Mourinho's agency. Wohlgemuth invited the Real Madrid coach to Berlin to meet him and discuss possible player transfers. Angelo Stiller, a Stuttgart midfielder, remains on Real Madrid's radar and may have been part of those talks.
"It is NOT TRUE: Jose Mourinho was at the Olympiastadion to watch Michael Olise for Real Madrid," Christian Falk told CF Bayern Insider exclusively. "The Portuguese head coach was invited by VfB Stuttgart." Bayern Munich did not request Mourinho's presence, Falk clarified.
Bayern won the DFB Pokal final 3-0 against Stuttgart that day, securing a domestic double. It was Bayern's first such achievement since manager Hansi Flick's tenure. While Mourinho may have observed Olise during the match, Bayern's president Uli Hoeneß made clear the winger will not leave Munich for Real Madrid. "Uli Hoeneß, the godfather of Bayern Munich, made it clear that Mourinho can come five times again to see the Frenchman play, but he won't sign him," Falk said.
Olise, a France international, joined Bayern from Crystal Palace for £50 million and has become an elite winger. He contributed 42 goals and 54 assists in 107 games—one goal or assist every 81.84 minutes. Those numbers have pushed his market value above £100 million, yet Bayern will not sell him this summer, even for an estimated €200 million.
