About

Inside the newsroom

A small team of editors and a network of regional contributors, augmented by careful AI-assisted summarisation of approved wire feeds.

Editorial structure

The day desk runs from 06:00 to 22:00 UTC. Section editors cover World, Politics, Economy, Science, Health, and Arts. Every published piece passes through at least one editor other than its writer.

Our use of AI

We use large language models to draft neutral summaries of approved third-party reporting. Every AI-assisted draft is reviewed by a human editor before publication and is labelled in the article's source line. We do not use AI to fabricate quotes, sources, images, or facts.

Sources

Our approved wire-source list is maintained by the standards desk and reviewed quarterly. Tips and primary documents are always welcome.
