Editorial
Editorial standards
The rules that govern what we publish, how we source it, and how we describe the world.
Sourcing
Every factual claim must be tied to a named source — an on-the-record speaker, a public document, or a previously-published report from an outlet on our approved-sources list. Anonymous sourcing requires sign-off from a section editor and must explain why anonymity was granted.
Language
We describe people and events in neutral, specific terms. We avoid loaded vocabulary, ideological labels, and headline phrasing that editorialises. We name rather than characterise.
AI assistance
Large language models are used for drafting summaries of approved wire material. The output is treated as a first draft and is reviewed by a human editor before publication. AI is not used to invent facts, quotes, sources, or images.
Conflicts of interest
Reporters disclose financial holdings, paid speaking, and political donations to the standards desk. Stories that touch on those interests are reassigned.
Independence
Polaris Global News accepts no advertising or sponsorship that conditions coverage. Reader support is the primary funding source.
